Voting ends on the 22nd and I’m hearing they need WAY more people to get involved and vote (only 12 last time I checked)!  The theme this year is Travel. My entry is called A Fantasy Trip and it’s a mash-up for Traditional Fantasy RPGs like D&D and the classic road trip game Eye Spy. http://rpggeek.com/thread/1245378/2014-rpg-geek-24-hour-contest-vote-now

Random Encounter

From Nick A. on G+ in response to Episode 05 – Systems:

Hey guys – just finished listening to episode 5. If you have an interest in science fiction in the dark future check out Fantasy Flight Games. Two books in particular – Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader – look really good. I haven’t played it – but the system is really simple. The biggest caveat; the system is focused on bringing 40k to life. If you don’t like that particular genre you won’t like the books at all.

Brett – If you want to mix politics and gaming in your posts be prepared for what will happen – arguments, fights, hate, etc. Sean helps explain best Google plus circle setup.

Topics of Discussion – RPG Settings

  • Homebrew vs Published
    • Why one over the other?
    • Home RPG Settings
      • Custom designed for you and your group and the stories you want to tell
      • Players usually have more input into what is canon
      • The group become masters of the setting together
    • Published RPG Settings
      • Less work (yes/no?)
      • Potentially lower “cost of entry”
      • Support by the publisher – adventures, races, classes, etc
  • RPG Settings that go along with the system
